Symphony Sunday

I host Symphony Sunday on WDRT FM 91.9 in Viroqua, WI once a month programming classical recordings with an emphasis on contemporary music. My segment, TheComposerStuido on the Air features performances and recordings of performers that collaborate with living composers. I often include new recordings and recordings of local chamber music performances in the Driftless region highlighted with interviews and in-studio performances. Some of my recent interviews have included the American composer, George Crumb, conductors, Alexander Platt, William Intrilligator, architect, Roald Gunderson, and clarinetist, Corey Mackey. And of course, I will be previewing the programs of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra and the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra.

My forthcoming programs in 2021:

May 2: Pledge drive programming! I will feature barn-burning last movements of my favorite symphonies!

June 6: I’ll feature an interview with internationally acclaimed flutist, Jonathan Borja. He will talk about his

collaboration with composer Samuel Zyman and here a performance of his Sonata No. 2 for flute and piano.

Here are some special interview segments that I have produced on my programs in the past.

My interview with American composer, George Crumb talking about his American Song Book series.
